CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - WEAR A HARDHAT, MAKE HISTORY!

Greg Roberts would like to cordially invite you to join him in building an art installation of unprecedented scale.

In March and April 2004, we will be transforming Atlantic Station, the newly constructed 30-story office building on the northern perimeter of the Georgia Tech campus, into the world's largest public-access video display screen. Through the magic of modern technology, and a lot of hard work, we will be installing computer controlled RGB light arrays, and the associated control hardware, behind each and every one of the 486 windows which comprise the main glass facade of the building... in effect turning the window grid into a real-time addressable, video-capable pixel grid. The public will be invited to submit their own messages, animations, photos and videos via the website 24/7... which will then be displayed nightly on the building, 250 feet tall!

The building developers have given the go-ahead, and public/private funds are being raised for hardware purchases. But in order to get this done, what we need most of all are PEOPLE. We are presently looking for volunteers with any (or all!) of the following skillsets:

  • electrical engineers
  • mechanical engineers
  • people good with power tools
  • electricians / wiring
  • carrying heavy objects short distances
  • programmers
  • sys admins
  • web designers
  • MS Project
  • videography / editing
  • photography
  • any other skill you'd like to apply
If you are interested in participating in this project, please send an email including your name, contact information, time availabilities, and relevant skill sets to: design@gregroberts.com
